Missions in Central Asia

We received the call to Central Asia in 2019, just before the COVID-19 pandemic began. After much prayer and discernment, our team dedicated ourselves to this apostolic calling. We walked away from well-paying jobs and comfortable lives to embark on a journey filled with uncertainty. It was no small decision—several team members faced pushback—but because God had clearly revealed and confirmed the calling, we took a leap of faith to trust and obey Him completely.

Our goal and strategy were simple: make disciples.

Unlike traditional mission approaches, we entered the region without existing connections or formal partnerships with local church leaders. Some might have considered our approach foolish because we had no step-by-step roadmap, choosing instead to rely entirely on the Holy Spirit to guide us to the right people and places. We resisted the pressure to chase fast results or large numbers. Instead, our focus was finding a few individuals who would give their lives fully to Christ, grow as disciples, and ultimately multiply the movement.

True discipleship is scarce around the world, including in Central Asia. For many, faith has been reduced to simply attending Sunday services. Congregants often receive little practical guidance from leadership, as the focus frequently shifts to delivering engaging sermons rather than cultivating Christlike standards in daily life. Consequently, many hold a surface-level understanding of what it means to be born again, treating church more as a social gathering than a life-transforming community.

Within a couple of years, God opened doors for us to share the message of discipleship and plant seeds among the locals. Remarkably, a couple of individuals received our message with joy and conviction. Through intentional discipling and mentorship, they are now equipping themselves to go and make disciples of their own.

Our approach to evangelism differs from standard models. Rather than measuring success by who walks through the doors of a church, we focus on genuine conversion and lives transformed by Christ. We believe true ministry isn't just about gathering a crowd—it's about discipling believers to be the Church. As the Lord empowers us, we strive to equip believers to stand pure and blameless before Jesus.
