God Provided when We Answered

6 May 2026

by Clement & An Ning

We answered the call to be missionaries in our late twenties. Having not found a lifelong partner for ourselves, we gave up our comfortable paying jobs in Singapore and left for missions with a team, just by faith, not knowing what to expect.

Long story cut short, God brought the both of us together and His grace and favor were so evident in our lives while we served Him. He made all things worked in our favor in our marriage plans, financial planning, purchasal of flat (in Singapore). Even the passing of my grandmother was perfectly timed when I happened to be back in Singapore.

Definitely, missions is not always a bed of roses. There are challenges we face, but it is through these challenges where our faith grow and where we get to witness the power of God.

Ultimately, this journey reminds us that when we say yes to God, He takes care of the rest. His plans are always better, His timing is always perfect, and His grace is always sufficient.

God is Preparing Me

God changed my perspective for mission work recently — When I was younger, I lived in Cambodia for 4 years and we built schools, provided healthcare, you name it. Most people think of mission work to be humanitarian aid related or building/helping churches, works that are outwards and for the benefit of others.

Recently however, the “script” was changed. Though I still had involvement in ministry and various other engagements, but God was mainly working in me. My time and energy was spent on wrestling with difficult truths, character molding and exercising love and patience.

Why? God was and is preparing me for the harvest ahead and to be more effective in ministry. So it may not seem like I’m achieving and progressing in what people think is usual mission work, but my spiritual growth has been accelerated, which is of great value too. And so I’ve learnt that obedience comes with big sacrifices, but as your faith is tested, there will be fruits to come.

Onward to the Next City!

27 May 2026

by Melchizedek & Ruth

It's been 4 years since we have been in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and the call has been given to our family to move to Astana. Through the leading of the Holy Spirit, we have received this instruction from the Lord to handover the church that we started in Almaty to the other members and to expand our work in another city.

Letting go of an established ministry is not something that many missionaries would be willing to do. Not only that, but to restart the work from zero at another city can be tiring and daunting. But, we fix our eyes on the faithfulness of God and trust that His grace and strength is always sufficient.

With the new challenges ahead of us, and the adjustment of a new life in a different city, pray alongside us that God will continue to glorify His name through us!
